MIX MASTER MACHINE
With over 30 years of combined experience, Danny Thorpe and Laurie Coupar have been at the heart of London’s music scene, running a successful music studio in central London for over 16 years. Starting out as artists themselves, they quickly honed their skills in the studio, driven by the realization that “No one else is going to do this for us.” This hands-on approach propelled their expertise in studio engineering and production.
Over the years, they’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Ghetts, Central Cee, Stormzy, Giggs, P Money, Ard Adz & more. Their versatility also shines through collaborations with artists in pop and dancehall genres, such as Donae’O, Boy George, Soul2Soul and X-Factor winners Rak-Su.
In 2019, they launched MixMasterMachine, a bold new venture that quickly gained momentum. Founded just before the lockdown, the business grew exponentially thanks to their loyal studio clientele and the growing demand for their distinctive mixing style. Their unique sound caught the attention of artists both locally and internationally, creating a rapidly expanding customer base.

Danny Thorpe
Danny has been writing music since the age of 13 and started engineering at 15 after realising that no studio could capture his sound the way he envisioned. Determined to perfect his craft, he immersed himself in music production, refining his skills and developing an unmatched ear for detail.
Growing up on the outskirts of London, he moved to the city at 17 to immerse himself in the scene. At 18, he met East London Rapper Ghetts, who mentored him in creating his signature clean vocal sound. Their connection led to years of collaboration, opening doors to work with some of the biggest names in UK rap and grime. Before artists like Central Cee and M Huncho rose to fame, he was already shaping their sound, helping define the London rap and grime scene.
Specializing in vocal Melodyne tuning, he ensures every vocal is polished to perfection, bringing out the best in an artist’s performance while maintaining a natural feel. His precision and attention to detail have made him a go-to engineer for those seeking clarity, depth, and emotion in their sound.
With a reputation built purely on word of mouth, he never needed a website—until now. As part of Mix Master Machine, his mission is to make elite-quality mixing accessible to artists everywhere, delivering a sound backed by 20 years of expertise.

Laurie Coupar
Laurie discovered his passion for music at the age of 10 and began exploring music production at 11, initially using software that came bundled with a cereal box. By 12, he was experimenting with a Fruity Loops demo, rapidly developing his skills and later mastering industry-standard software such as Logic and, more recently, Ableton.
At 17, he relocated to London to pursue a career in the music industry. His talent and dedication quickly earned him opportunities to collaborate with some of the UK’s leading underground artists, as well as mainstream chart-topping acts, including X Factor winners Rak-Su.
In 2023, determined to refine his craft, Laurie immersed himself in a music production and technology course. His dedication paid off as he successfully completed his training, earning a prestigious Music Production & Technology Diploma and further solidifying his expertise in the industry.
Renowned for his precision, efficiency, and exceptional musical sensibility, Laurie has developed a distinguished reputation for his mastery of vocal tuning—particularly through the advanced application of Melodyne. His strong production background gives him a unique edge in mixing and mastering, ensuring every track is sonically polished while preserving the artist’s original vision.
